Patients without Medicare
If you live in Australia but don’t have Medicare, you can still use our service.
Without Medicare, pathology may charge you for testing in addition to our fee. If you have visa related health insurance, you may be able to claim the pathology costs.
If you want to claim our service fee through your insurer, check their requirements before purchasing. If they require a consultation date and MBS item number, you will need to book a doctor’s appointment rather than go straight to a referral, as referrals purchased without an appointment do not have an MBS item number.
If you don’t have Medicare and our doctors need to prescribe you a treatment for an STI you need to provide us with an Individual Health Identifier Number (IHI). Please continue reading for how to apply for this if you do not have it already.

A number that identifies you for health care purposes.
An Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) is a unique number used to identify an individual for health care purposes.
It helps ensure health professionals are confident that the right information is associated with the right individual at the point of care.
Those with Medicare already have an IHI. If you’re not eligible for Medicare or a DVA benefit, find out how to get an IHI.
My Health Record (Optional)
My Health Record is a secure and convenient access to your health information anywhere, anytime. You need an IHI to have a My Health Record. This is a secure online summary of your health information.

No Medicare & eScripts | Electronic Prescriptions (Required)
An electronic prescription is a digital version of a paper prescription. They are a safe and convenient alternative to paper prescriptions. You can choose to receive an electronic prescription from your healthcare provider when you next need a prescription, or you can request for it to be sent to your Active Script List (ASL).
Our PrEP Health service is setup and relies on eScripts.
No Medicare and already have a prescription?
